Serial I/O Peripherals, Analog Devices
This range of mobile I/O expanders and keypad controllers from Analog Devices are ideal for applications which need a large extended keypad and/or expanded I/Os. This is applications such as portable devices, smartphones, inventory scanners, medical equipment and meter readers.
Mobile I/O expanders take some of the functionality that is carried out by a microprocessor, for example GPIO and key scan function. Microprocessors are then able to carry out higher priority functions whilst providing higher efficiency and lower power consumption.
