Projectiles (Dust, concrete, metal, wood and plastic).
Chemicals (Splashes and fumes)
Bloodborne pathogens from blood or body fluids

Can prescription glasses be used as Safety Glasses?

Prescription glasses are not specifically designed to protect your eyes, and so should not be relied on to offer any protection. Safety glasses are typically tough, durable, and designed to stay secure on the face more than typical spectacles.

Safety glasses are generally made from different materials or different thicknesses in order to withstand the impact of flying objects or hazardous materials. Prescription lenses in normal glasses have are designed purely to correct vision and provide little to no protection from hazardous materials.
