RS Pro IP66 Die cast Aluminium Powder Coated Enclosure
From RS Pro, a range of aluminium enclosures manufactured from Die Cast aluminium alloy. These enclosures are designed for harsh and demanding applications, such as outdoor environments. The enclosure boxes are watertight IP66 including a neoprene O-Ring continuous gasket and 4 copper plated earthing screws for grounding. This is an excellent enclosure available in various sizes all meeting IP66 including many other approvals and standards. All models are highly reliable and excellent quality.

What is an enclosure?
General purpose enclosures are protective boxes, used to house industrial, electronic and other sensitive equipment. Depending on the environment, different levels of protection may be required. These particular boxes have to ability enclose DIN Rail mounted electrical components (if fitted) and shield them from interfering circumstances.
This enclosure is not flanged
What does IP66 mean?
IP rating is known as – Ingress Protection or International Protection Rating
Ratings are defined to the International Standard EN 60529 (British BS EN 60529:1992, European IEC 60529:1989)
The standards are used to define the level of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures.
Standard denotes the protection against foreign bodies like dirt and water.
The rating consists of the letters IP followed then by 2 digits/numbers (IP 66)
The first number stands for the level of protection provided against solid bodies.
The second number describes the degree of protection for the equipment within the enclosure from water.
